PAD Self Assessment Quiz

Posted November 13, 2019

PAD- peripheral arterial disease, can cause dangerous blood clots in the legs. Approximately 8 million people in the U.S are affected by PAD but many go undiagnosed until it is too late. PAD is a dangerous health condition that can lead to heart attacks, strokes, or even death. It is important to know the signs of PAD so you may seek early treatment. The Center for Vascular Health of the greater Maryland and Metro DC area offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of PAD and other vascular diseases. Our team of highly trained physicians encourage their patients to seek treatment as soon as possible for effective and possibly life-saving treatment.

What is PAD?

PERIPHERAL ARTERY DISEASE is a common circulatory problem. Arteries that carry blood to the legs do not function fully due to becoming clogged by plaque. Over time the plaque build-up hardens and can cause blockages in the arteries.

Symptoms of PAD

  • Fatigue, heaviness, tiredness and/or cramping in the legs
  • Leg Pain
  • Non-Healing Wounds on the legs
  • Changes in the color of the skin near the feet or legs
  • Differences in Temperature between legs
  • Poor Nail and/or Hair Growth on the fingers or toes

Take A PAD Self Assessment

Maryland’s Center for Vascular Health offers a comprehensive self-assessment for PAD. If you answer yes to any of these questions, be sure to visit one of our convenient locations for professional help. You may also print out this assessment with your answers to help guide your first visit to The Center for Vascular Health. Some patients may feel anxious or overwhelmed, but having the assessment already filled out can help you answer the doctor's questions clearly. Filling out the assessment beforehand will allow you to take your time and think about each question so you can answer it truthfully and thoughtfully.
