Frequently Asked Questions About Virtual Doctor Appointments

A telehealth appointment is just like a regular appointment. The only difference is how the healthcare provider sees you. Instead of traveling to our office and meeting in an exam room, you can connect with online through your phone/video chat.

When you request an appointment online or over the phone by calling (301) 486-4690, a Center for Vascular Medicine team member will reach out to you and confirm the date and time of your appointment. They’ll also send you a text or email with a link to test our connection with you. There is nothing to download or install. Simply click the link and follow the on-screen prompts. When we confirm everything is working correctly and you’re familiar with the technology, we’ll send you another link to access at your scheduled appointment time. It’s that easy!

Telehealth appointments are completely safe and secure. You receive the same quality, personalized care and attention that you’ve come to expect from the team at Center for Vascular Medicine. There’s no reason to leave the comfort of your home or travel to our offices to discuss your vascular health with an accredited provider.

We can perform most routine evaluations, new patient consultations, follow-up appointments, and more over phone/video chat – everything except a physical exam and advanced procedures. If you require an in-person visit following your telehealth appointment, we’ll review your options for visiting us during the call.

For most patients, a telehealth appointment is exactly the same as an in-office appointment. The only difference is how you see and speak to the healthcare provider.

Yes! Telehealth sessions are billed the same way as an in-office appointment, so your insurance coverage will be the same whether you visit us in the office or over the phone.
