The Center for Vascular Medicine is happy to welcome Dr. Jessica Zaret. Dr. Zaret is highly qualified in evaluating chronic pelvic pain and identifying vascular insufficiency and pelvic congestion. Her education and past work experience have made her a knowledgeable physician that we are excited have as a part of our growing team dedicated to treating vascular disease. Originally born in Seattle, Dr. Zaret attended New York University where she obtained her undergraduate degree, graduating magna cum laude. She stayed at New York University to receive her M.D., going on to complete her OB/GYN residency at the Uniformed Services program at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Naval Medical Center. Dr. Zaret was selected for training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Zaret has a variety of certifications including passing the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) REI written board exam, the ABOG general oral board exam, and the ABOG general written board exam. She has also passed three United States medical licensing examinations. Through her 13 years of military service, Dr. Zaret cared for patients at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. Her military services led her to earn the Army Commendation Medal and Defense Meritorious Service Medal from the United States Department of Defense. The United States Armed Services also granted her with the Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Zaret has worked throughout the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC areas. Through her work experience, Dr. Zaret has gained knowledge specific to chronic pelvic pain in women, which is a common medical problem yet a major diagnostic challenge for doctors due to its unclear nature. She has a special interest in identifying those patients in whom vascular insufficiency and pelvic congestion syndrome are a significant cause of their symptoms. Along with her interest in caring for others, Dr. Zaret enjoys spending time with family, which includes spoiling her labradoodles. She also likes challenging herself to participate in road races. A highly education and trained doctor, Dr. Zaret will help move the Center for Vascular Medicine forward and expand our treatment services. Dr. Zaret is very passionate about providing advanced care and service.
